David Hogan

David Hogan, Associate Professor, earned his Ph.D. in 1979 from the University of Kentucky in experimental psychology.  Dr. Hogan teaches courses in the psychology of learning, comparative psychology, and experimental methods.

Earlier in his career he conducted experiments on relational concept learning, acquired equivalence relationships (transitivity, reversibility and identity), and observational learning in pigeons. His research has been presented at national and international conferences and is widely cited in undergraduate and graduate level texts on learning and cognition in animals.

More recently, Dr. Hogan has conducted research on the efficacy of diversity courses in reducing prejudice toward minority groups (particularly African Americans and homosexuals) and on the cognitive/affective underpinnings of academic procrastination in college students.
