Completion Options

Elective work (9 semester hours) is required in addition to the core curriculum (36 semester hours) in order to fulfill the Master of Science in I-O Psychology degree requirements. Any combination of listed options below (totaling 9 semester hours) will satisfy the elective requirements.

PSY 691 Thesis  
6 semester hours
Independent supervised research investigating a selected topic in I-O Psychology. This option includes developing and defending a written research proposal, conducting the approved research, completing the written results and conclusions and defending the completed project.

PSY 696 Practicum
3 or 6 semester hours
Independent supervised employment involving a project in I-O Psychology. For full credit, the project must include a situational/needs assessment, formal literature review, written proposal, actual intervention, data gathering/measurement and formal evaluation.
